A delegation of third-year students from the College of Education, Department of Life Sciences, Samarra University, visited the Biotechnology Research Center at Al-Nahrain University on Wednesday, November 29, 2023.
They were welcomed by the Head of the Environmental Biotechnology Department, Professor Dr. Hazem Ismaeil Abdul-Bari, and the Head of the Medical and Molecular Biotechnology Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Farah Thamer. The visit aimed to familiarize the students with the stages of nucleic acid and DNA extraction, as well as the equipment used in the extraction process.
Veterinary Doctor Haider Abdul Zahra delivered a lecture on the extraction device and its operation. Additionally, there was a concise and comprehensive presentation on the center’s technologies and the services it provides to students and researchers.Furthermore, Assistant Lecturer Mawj Naaman presented a lecture on Plant Biotechnology techniques on behalf of the Plant Biotechnology Department.
