Misuse of drugs scientific symposium held by the Biotechnology Research Center

The Biotechnology Research Center held a scientific symposium tagged (Wrong use of some medical drugs in Iraqi Society), on Monday 30/10/2023, at 9:30 am. It aimed to provide adequate and valuable information to raise awareness among individuals about the wrong use of medicines, and the consequent harms and negatives on our bodies and immunity.

It was held at the seminar and conference hall of the center, headed by Assistant Professor Dr. Farah Thamer, Head of the Department of Medical and Molecular Biotechnology, and Assistant Professor Dr. Suad Ghazi Jaafar, Rapporteur of the session.

The symposium included four axes, Dr. Haider Muhammad Faeq presented the first axis, as he dealt with a comprehensive detailed explanation of the misuse of medicines and its impact on public health and public behavior, the second axis was presented by assistant teacher Sally Mazen and included the misuse of paracetamol, the third axis was presented by assistant teacher Mustafa Attia and included the misuse of antibiotics, and the fourth and last axis was presented by assistant teacher Roaa Alwan Ahmed and dealt with the misuse of flagyl.

Finally, certificates of participation were distributed to the lecturers in appreciation of the efforts made, taking into account the recommendations submitted by Assistant Professor Dr. Suad Ghazi Jaafar at the end of the seminar.
